Quiot is often mentioned in the same breath as the Southern Rhone. Quiot owns several vineyards in the important ‘Villages’ in the Rhone, including Vacqueyras, Gigondas and Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

The grapes of this blend of Grenache and Syrah come from Vacqueyras in the Vallée du Rhône. Château du Triignon has four terroirs, from pebble to sandy soil. The grapes undergo a cold maceration to extract colors and flavors. The juice is then fermented at a controlled temperature for three weeks. The must is pumped over twice a day. This gives the wine more color, tannin and taste. The wine is aged for another year, 10% of which in oak.

Tasting Notes: The colour is raisin red and the smell of ripe red fruit (blackberries, plums), wood, vanilla and a hint of mint. A fairly solid wine, the smell continues in the taste. A long finish.
